Prompt: Party. What social gathering rocked your socks off in 2010? Describe the people, music, food, drink, clothes, shenanigans.
In August, my parents threw us an engagement party, and it definitely rocked my socks off! There wasn’t any music, but there were lots of cupcakes, and plenty of other yummy food, along with mimosas to drink. My mom dressed up two metal figures as bride and groom (see above. so adorable!) and put together a photo board with snapshots of me and my fiance from childhood through the present.
All of that was awesome, but the best part of the party was celebrating with the people who mean the most to us. We were surrounded friends and family, and everyone was SO happy for us. A number of family friends from the town where I grew up made the trip from Massachusetts, just so they could be there for our party. These people have known me literally my entire life, and it meant so much to have them there. Of course, I know that the engagement party will pale in comparison to our wedding next September. I can’t wait!!
